As Gabber Modus Operandi, Indonesian duo DJ Kasimyn and MC Ican Harem create hybridized high-intensity dance music, where modern rave meets ancient tradition with satire and internet humor. Informed by punk, metal, and experimental noise whilst inspired by the traditional Javanese dance, jathilan, which sees performers enter altered states or appear possessed, Gabber Modus Operandi are an explosive force in native Bali.
